What to do around Vicenza this weekend
Giro d'Italia 2024: the 20th stage
Following tomorrow's race in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the 107th edition of the Giro d'Italia comes back to teh Veneto region, and the Province of Vicenza will be on the spotlight. Starting from Albago (Belluno), cyclists will pass through the Province of Belluno, the Province of Treviso, and will arrive in Semonzo del Grappa, where they will climb twice to the top of Mount Grappa (18.2 km).
Once on the top for the second time, the riders will descend the mountain, passing through Ponte San Lorenzo, Il Pianaro, arriving in Romano d'Ezzelino. From there, they will start the final part of the race, arriving in Bassano del Grappa, and concluding the 20th stage of the championship.
Given the importance of the race around Italy, Bassano has set up an exhibition dedicated to the world of cycling, called "Bassano Mondiale". From the 22nd to the 29th of May, a unique collection of newspaper articles and pictures, related to the Giro d'Italia will be shown in Spazio Largo Corona, allowing visitors to take a trip back to the past.
In Piazza dei Signori, the event "ViCeramica"
Between Saturday and Sunday, Piazza dei Signori in Vicenza will be entirely dedicated to the world of clay, hosting the Ceramics Market Exhibition "ViCeramica". Visitors will have the opportunity to discover unique and extraordinary works, displayed all over the square, and will have the chance to watch live demonstrations from different experts.
In addition, this event will be also an opportunity to find an original gift, or simply a new decoration for your house.
In Marostica, "A Scuola di Caffè"
On Saturday, May 25, from 2.45 PM, in Piazza Castello in Marostica, the event "A Scuola di Caffè" will take place. An event completely dedicated to the world of coffee, which will allow its participants to dive into the wide and different taste of one of the most appreciated beverages in the world.
As of today, coffee is not only a simple drink, but also a unique and tasteful experience. And indeed, this event in Marostica aims at taking its participants to sensory journey, which will unveil the complexity and variety of coffee flavours.
After tasting different coffees at the Casa del Caffè in Piazza Castello, the event will continue in the lower side of the Castle of the city, where an authorised guide will accompany you on a tour of the castle.
The event will start at 2.45 PM in front of the "Casa del Caffè" bar, and will last until 5.30 PM. To participate, at the cost of 15 euros, please find all the information at the following website.
At the Velodrome in Bassano, the initiative "Pedalata Rosa - Young"
At 1.00 PM on Saturday, May 25, at the "Rino Mercante" Velodrome in Bassano del Grappa, the "Pedalata Rosa - Young" will be organised. This will be an initiative entirerly dedicate to boys and girls, aged between 9 and 13, which will take them from the Velodrome to the Giro d'Italia's finish line, in the heart of Bassano.
An opportunity to introduce young people to the world of cycling. The group will be accompained fromt the Velodrome to the Parolini Gardens, cycling for approximately 2.5 km.

In Cassola, the Borgo Isola festival
From Friday, May 24, to Sunday, May 26, the Borgo Isola neighbourhood in Cassola will hold its annual festival, in celebration of the Our Lady Help of Christians (in Italian: Madonna Ausiliatrice).
Three evenings of good food and music: On Friday, May 24, the youth area will open around 6.00 PM, and will be followed by the "panini onti" evening, which will prepare juicy burgers, with grilled peppers, and crispy onions, all wrapped by warm bread. The food stands are expected to open around 7.00 PM. Once you've enjoyed your "panino onto", prepare to dance at 9.00 PM, when the "hits night" will begin, with Mattia Zarpellon as the DJ.
On Saturday, May 25, after the Holy Mass in the historic center of the neighbourhood at 6.00 PM, the youth area and the food stands for the barbecue evening will open at 7.00 PM, with spit-roasted meat, accompained by fries, beans in sauce, and polenta. Following this, around 9.00 PM, the "Back to the Future" night will start, with DJ Baly McFly at the console.
Finally, the festival will conclude on Sunday, May 26, with the opening of the youth area at 6.00 PM, the food stand at 7.00 PM, and the "Crunchy Music" evening by DJ Croccante, at 9.00 PM.
